Position Overview
Sefaria, a nonprofit organization dedicated to building the future of Torah in an open and participatory way, seeks an summer engineering intern. This is a full-time, minimum of 8 week internship, with possibility of extension.
This is a hybrid role in Israel with at least one day a week in our Jerusalem office. The internship will run from July 27, 2025 to September 21, 2025, with a possible extension to October 20, 2025. We will be selecting two people for this internship.
This role will focus on enhancing and expanding the linking between Sefaria’s vast library of texts, improving discoverability, and supporting educational exploration. You will work closely with our Product, Design, and Engineering teams to gain in-depth knowledge in data analysis, software development, and digital humanities. This position will report to an Engineering manager.
You will gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge digital humanities tools and methodologies, mentorship from industry experts and the opportunity to network in the non-profit tech sector, experience working in an agile, open-source development environment, and a tangible impact on the accessibility and interconnectedness of Jewish texts worldwide.
